Wow! It was nine years ago I wrote the first post of this blog. Here I am almost 800 posts later and I am still writing. Fortunately, IBM has "cooperated" and has released a lot of really interesting and exciting things in this time, giving me lots of material to write about.
This where I pick my favorite five posts of the past 12 months, which is always a struggle as there is always so many things to consider:
- QCMDEXC scalar function added to SQL
- Getting data from User Spaces made easy with SQL
- Finding fastest way to copy data from one table to another
- New Navigator for i available
- Using Lateral in SQL
- New way in RPG to monitor for errors
- New SQL built in function allows for validating data types
OK, I cheated as there are more than five. There are so many good things that have been added, or I have discovered, this year my list could have easily been a lot longer.
On the personal side, I was touched to be an IBM Champions for Power again this year.
And to be an IBM Community Advocate too.
While I have been giving online presentations for the past couple of years, it is exciting to start going to conferences and meet people again. In March I went to WMCPA's Spring Conference as a presenter. While I did not present at COMMON's PowerUp 2022 it was a wonderful experience to meet so many of you. Keep an eye for me at any conference you may be attending as I have been asked to present at a few others later this year.
I also need to thank all of you, the readers of this blog for doing so. I want to give special thanks to all of you who took to time to give me feedback and encouragement, it is very much appreciated.
I want to say "vielen Dank" to RZKH. Without their generous help and support I would not be able to write this blog.
I wonder what the tenth year of RPGPGM.COM will bring?
Great contributions to the community.
