New TR for IBM i 7.3

I am certain in all the videos of the announcements for IBM i 7.5 and 7.4 TR6 we were told there would be no more Technology Refreshes, TR, for 7.3.

Well, it appears that there is to be another Technology Refresh for 7.3, TR12. I found it on the Technology Refresh information page for 7.3 here.

It is available on the same day, May 24, that 7.4 TR6 is.

What is available in this TR for 7.3?

It appears to be mainly to do with adding the necessary functionality to 7.3 to allow it to run on the Power10 servers. There are some enhancements to Db2 for i, but what only appears to be a subset of what was announced for 7.5 and 7.4 TR6. Alas all of the "big hitters" recently announced, things like IBM Merlin, will not be in the 7.3 TR.

I applaud IBM for giving IBM i 7.3 compatible with the Power10 servers, I am sure they are going to make a lot of their customers happy with this news. I was hoping that more of the recent 7.4 TR6 updates would be included.

    Simon, the Spring 2022 enhancements for RPG are also available for 7.3. The 7.3 and 7.4 PTFs are already available. https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/rpg-cafe-spring-2022-new-messaging-opcodes-snd-msg-and-excp
